Nature of work

Therapist: Menergy

Menergy, a therapy-based treatment program for abusive men and women, is seeking a therapist who will work as an independent contractor for up to 20 hours per week.

The agency’s work includes:

  • Providing intensive evaluations of clients wishing to change their patterns of abusive behavior
  • Offering beginner-level groups designed to significantly alter the behavior and attitudes of abusive men
  • Running advanced-level groups for men who have stopped the most obvious abusive behavior and are now ready to look at more nuanced and ingrained habits of dominance and avoidance in their relationships
  • Providing ongoing treatment for clients with complicated histories of trauma

Responsibilities

  • Running beginner- and advanced-level treatment groups for abusive partners
  • Conducting in-depth evaluations of new clients
  • Keeping records related to client contact and writing reports for referring institutions
  • Interfacing with representatives from referring institutions, communicating with clinical staff, and taking thorough notes on all contacts
  • Participating as a member of the clinical team in case presentations and reviews and attending individual supervision with clinical director

Relational Skills Coaches for K-12 teachers: The Center for Supportive Relationships

The Center for Supportive Relationships is hiring full-time contractors who will provide real-time feedback to teachers during one-on-one coaching sessions that take
place while they are teaching, in order to guide them toward more relationally skilled
behaviors.

These Relational Skills Coaches empower K-12 teachers to be the best teachers they can be, by teaching them to strengthen their relationships with students, using the Center’s evidence-based coaching model. This work results in greater student engagement, reduced behavioral problems, and greater teacher satisfaction.

The majority of coaching takes place in Upper Darby, Pa. The Center’s work environment that is highly meaningful, autonomous, intellectually stimulating, and social.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in psychology, school psychology, applied behavior analysis, or related field
  • Strong working knowledge of reinforcement-based training
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Comfort with technology (for example: Most coaching is done by sending text messages from a tablet to a smart watch that teachers are wearing; coaches use a cloud-based file system for sharing progress notes)

This position entails working every school day. Since Relational Skills Coaches work with teachers, the schedule is very similar to that of teachers. The position includes paid time off during official school holidays and breaks. Relational Skills Coaches are expected to work on all other school days, except for special circumstances or personal emergencies.

Relational Skills Coaches are consultants for the Center, not employees, which means they are responsible for paying their own taxes. While contractors do not receive benefits, the Center can assist with purchasing health insurance.

Social Worker: Crozer-Keystone Health System

The Crozer-Keystone Health System is hiring a Social Worker who will manage a multidisciplinary team (under the oversight of a Faculty Clinical Lead) that provides high intensity care management to a cohort of medically vulnerable patients with disproportionate utilization of hospital services. The aim of this program is to reduce utilization, contain costs, and improve quality of health for these patients.

Accountabilities and criteria

  • Patient care skills
    • Recruitment of patients into program using data-driven processes.
    • Perform intake of patients into intervention, most frequently in their homes.  This will include interviewing patients, setting patient-centered goals, and assessing risk for re-admission. Particular emphasis to home environment, family relationships, health history, and trauma history.
    • Develop care management plan focused on both social and medical determinants of health. Care management plans will be reviewed weekly.
    • Collaborate with community organizations to assure patient access to resources such as medical insurance, housing, transportation, and legal services.
    • Coordinate medical care of patient with primary and specialty services.
    • Use counseling and Motivational Interviewing skills to empower patients to make changes needed for improvement of health and well-being.
  • Leadership
    • Run multi-disciplinary team consisting of a community health worker, social work students, psychology students, pharmacy support, and medical consultants.
    • Conduct weekly care planning meeting with members of multi-disciplinary team.
    • Cull data on program (utilization, cost, and leakage data) to be reviewed by Faculty Clinical Lead and presented to Crozer-Keystone executives at least quarterly.

  • Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work
  • Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
